OCean Exploration's Boats

Ocean Explorations has been in business for the last 16 years and is a company that prides itself on conservation and responsible operation around local marine wildlife. Over the years we have built a reputation that exceeds the standards set by the industry. Our tours are intimate, fun, exciting and provide great knowledge on the local environment, and wildlife. We are also as of 2012 a Carbon Neutral Company.

Our skilled staff and the equipment we operate are tried tested and true. For your safety and comfort we have specially designed seats that offer full support plus a soft ride. Seating is forward facing and easily accommodates 12 passengers and crew. Our boats are powered by both Suzuki and Mercury outboard engines. We use two engines on each boat for added reliability and safety. These boats will also provide you with the true westcoast experience that our whale watchers crave. With our smaller boats we can provide a more personal experience with the sealife and resident orcas. Feel the mist, taste the air, hear the whales breathe..

For precise navigation, particularly in limited visibility conditions each vessel is fully equipped with Radar, Depth Sounder, compass and a Global Positioning System. Communication is vital. In addition to VHF marine radios and cellular Phones, we use a private trunk radio system. Our vessels are coast guard inspected on an annual basis, they meet and exceed the highest standards and are always maintained in top condition.

Ocean Explorations currently Operates three ocean vessels: NEKTON, AZONIC and WAHOO

NEKTON: Named for The collection of marine and freshwater organisms that can swim freely and are generally independent of currents, ranging in size from microscopic organisms to whales.

AZONIC: Named for it's perpetual exploration of the salish sea. A true fixture of southern vancouver island's seascape.

WAHOO: as in WAAAAAHOOOOOOOO!
